Membership
Membership of The Winter Sports Foundation is open to anyone competing in winter sports and their families.
The Winter Sports Foundation, like all charities relies on charitable donations in order to carry on the good work and help fulfil our aims.
Whilst we do not charge parents and athletes anything to become a member when they set up their Personal Sports Fund, we do ask that, if you are able to, you give a voluntary donation for membership. For a years membership we would recommend between £20.00 and £50.00. But, as mentioned, this donation is completely up to you. Please also remember to tick gift aid when you make the donation! You can donate easiest by clicking on the donate link in the main menu and following the steps outlined there.
The Personal Sports Fund
The Personal Sports Funds were created to help the children competing in winter sports go further by reducing the financial burden that expensive winter sports can place on parents. We do this by helping parents find sponsors for their child and reclaiming gift aid on those donated amounts.
You can only reclaim the money back by sending receipts to us which shows what you have paid for is allowable by the charity and allows us to pay the money back to you. A Personal Sports Fund can be used to help with the cost of anything related to helping the child in their sport, some examples are:
- Training & Coaching Fee’s
- Travel & Accommodation Expenses
- Injury rehabilitation & medical expenses incurred through the sport
- Equipment to participate
- Race & Membership fee’s
